Who We Are
The Women's Center of Wake County is the only day shelter exclusively for single women experiencing homelessness in Wake County. 100% of our guests are experiencing homelessness, 66% have no income. All our clients are women (or female identifying), with more than 50% identifying as a woman of color. More than 85% of our guests have severe or persistent mental illness (SPMI) and 91% have histories of sexual assault. Every person we serve comes from at least one historically marginalized group.
